Other Links to Ring - Getting inappropriate sites in there... - 05/21/2005
The following URLs are showing up in the 'Other Links to Ring' page. They are links to gambling sites with popups /popunders and auto-downloads. I know none of my Ring members can see these sites, but just wondered if they are blockable?

http://www.ua-princeton.com
http://www.teriandersonandassoc.com/poker-hands.html
http://www.shivapage.com/party-poker.html
http://www.e-poker-777.com/strip-poker.html
http://www.alleghenydist.net/free-slots.html

Thanks,
Ringmaster (waiting to join Manager's forum)

It is not possible to stop one person from telling another person the address of a web page.

That is what a link is: one person telling another person the address of a web page.

Thanks James. It's still annoying. :)

It is extra hits to your website. Just means the ring has been well promoted thats all!

boy, people really shoot the messenger here.

It's a hit, big whoop. I go to a site in 'other links', thinking it's legit, and when I click it immediately starts downloading malicious software to my PC. Yes, that's a link I want on my Ring - NOT!

I don't want to block all 'other links' - you're right, they are hits to my Ring and yes, my Ring is well-promoted, and I love Webring, etc.etc. The point of posting here and in the Manager's Forum was to raise a concern and to warn others to be careful of SOME of these other links.

Let this be an end to this discussion. Amen. :)
