(http://www.e-syndicate.net/wr-884.htm By the way wr-884.htm appears to stand for webring page 884. I checked random numbers from 100 to 800, I have no idea how many ring pages they have but you can't get back to them.)
The e-syndicate website is joining over one thousand Rings, under almost 100 different IDs. Each membership is assigned to a different URL, which is pretty much what you've observed. Since your posting he's changed something on his site that allows you to keep the same WebRing at the bottom while on his site but his site has little relevance to the topic of the WebRing once you leave the registered URL. Honestly, even the registered URL has little relevance. He (and a network of co-workers, friends, kissing cousins, or whatever) are doing this as a group. He's not working alone. Oh, did I mention that he's also the one responsible for the FREEVIRAL emails that RMs have been receiving? If your ID is configured for allowing contact from anyone, he can contact you and not leave much of a trail. For what it's worth, freeviral itself is a reputable company who has destroyed every account he's created there. It's my opinion that any RingMaster who has his site in membership should remove it. He's a detriment to WebRing (and freeviral) in more ways than one.
